[Me] Signs that I am becoming my father #43

So last night I was watching the news with Mum. There was an item about a lady who had won London bus driver of the year..
During that item the reporter was saying that “the winning driver had to learn 13 routes with countless stops.”

Countless! I exclaimed.  That isn’t countless.

Mum just laughed, commenting that it was something that Dad would have remarked upon.

[Push] Goals for the year..

Given that it is the new year, it is good to have some goals and resolutions..  by writing about them here should make me feel more committed.
So in no particular order here we go:

1. Post to my blog more..
2. Use FB less..
3. Go for a Sunday morning run. (I have missed one already, oops)
4. Take more photos, (5 days in still not taken any.)
5. Watch less TV.
6. Be more geeky, write some code, do something with my Raspberry Pi.
7. Get fitter.
8. Actually interact with my friends in real time.
9. Get a new job.
10. Get on with the DIY projects.
11. Bake more.
12. Get out and do stuff.
13. Accept challenges.

While I accept that these are not SMART objectives, and are a bit vague in places, I am hoping that I will make some progress on them and that will lead me to being a better person.

So feel free to ask me how I am getting on.

[Me] How to care for your Darkpoint #12

Several people have told me that I am a tricky person to buy gifts for.. which surprises me as being a bloke I had thought it was quite straight forward..

Ok I agree that I am the very fortunate position that there is nothing that I really need, and anything that I do want is either complicated or expensive or both.. which is why I normally tell people not to worry about it..

However if you ever find that you have to get me something, please reference this very simple list.

1. Lego*
2. Cadburys dairy milk chocolate**
3. Cold hard cash***
4. More Lego.
5. Money that is given to some worthwhile charity instead of me.

I do not want to seem ungrateful, I have received many wonderful things that have not been on the above list.. this is only intended to help reduce any gift buying anxiety that you might encounter.
If I only received things on the above list ever again, I would be a very contented Darkpoint.

* Bonus points for Star Wars Lego.
** Minus many points for anything that is not Cadburys.. as a simple bloke I think that Hotel Chocolate is rubbish and over complicated.
*** Drinking vouchers, or whatever you want to call it.  That I will with spend on Lego or chocolate, or in strange times put towards an expensive complicated thing.
